Red Lady Films was established out of a mutual love for a very special place, Crested Butte, Colorado.
While sitting in a park in Brooklyn, longing for the mountains of the West, a friend suggested to Conor that he pursue a film project that he couldn’t get out of his head. That film project was to recount the mysterious and wonderfully colorful stories that Conor had heard thoughout his upbringing. The stories came in bits and pieces, from a variety of individuals, but all focused around a similar topic, the community that was Crested Butte in the 1960’s and 1970’s. In that moment, Conor decided he needed to make this film. His goal was to make a film that depicted these stories, and brought to light the life and times of the wanderers, adventurers, ski-bums, entrepreneurs and all around genuine personalities that inhabited Crested Butte between 1960 and 1980. While visiting Crested Butte in December of 2014, Conor met Alison Batwin, a fellow town enthusiast and lover of old stories. The two of them quickly decided to turn the idea into a reality and Red Lady Films was established.
